Hi everyone! Another week at home.. how are y’all hanging in there. I hope everyone is staying healthy and staying in as much as your work life allows. I got great feedback from last weeks recap, so I decided to do it again!
Here is a little recap of what we did this week:
Let’s start with what we cooked:
Stove Top Deer Roast, with potatoes & carrots. I have tutorials of how I do this on my IG Highlights “Instant Pot” & ‘Stove Top”. The potatoes probably could have been added a little later because they turned to mush and it was like we were eating mashed potatoes over rice. But hey- carbs on carbs don’t taste bad at all!
Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai recipe from The Defined Dish Cookbook, SO GOOD! Look at my highlight “Cookbook Club” to see how it turned out. Click here for the book.
Tom Yum Soup, we picked up these spice packets in Thailand and made a super hot Tom Yum Soup. No recipe for this, sorry guys.
We enjoyed Take Out Boiled Crawfish on our patio Friday night from La Crawfish Time.. SO GOOD! Check out other local restaurants still open for take out in this post, click here.
We continued to eat on Clean out Your Pantry Cookies, find recipe here.
We also snacked on Holy Cleggs Banana Bread, recipe here. We didn’t use nuts or blueberries and instead added 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1-2 tbsp of peanut butter.
Geetsies Homemade Biscuits were enjoyed outside Saturday morning with eggs & breakfast sausage.
Beer Can Chickens with Alabama White BBQ were smoked Saturday afternoon and we have plenty of leftovers to play with this week! Click Here for Petey’s Beer Can Chicken Recipe.
Sous Vide Cheesecake - the perfect pick me up. I used this recipe, click here.
How did we keep ourselves entertained
SHOWS! Tiger King on Netflix- the craziest documentary I have ever seen. Ozark Season 3
BOOKS! I’m still reading Ask Again Yes for this months book club book..Looking for something else to read check out the Cook Your Book Section on the blog.
MUSIC! The Eagles Pandora Station has been our jam on bike rides
I sewed protective masks for Thrifty Way Pharmacy and a couple of aprons. I finally made Petey his apron, he’s only been asking for almost a year! Whoops!
YARD WORK! Petey is rocking at this.. our yard is looking super fly.
How we are easing our minds
We are still moving our bodies every day, this has increased to pretty much 60-90 minutes a day. When we go for walks or bike rides I leave my phone at home. We rode around ULs campus on Friday afternoon- it was so peaceful by the swamp. Need ideas on working out at home? Click Here
We celebrated Chewie’s 4th Birthday!
I listened to the Pray As You Go app a couple of times, I need to do this daily
I also journaled a couple of times as well
Here is to another week. I plan on really using my time to organize & clean small spots in my house each day. Head to Instagram @thevintagefork to see what we are cooking this week!
Safe & Healthy wishes to all,
Liz
